Hero fisherman saves an adorable baby bear cub from drowning after seeing it struggling to swim on the surface of a lake!
Brad Meck was fishing in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania's James Creek when he noticed a small brown thing floating in the water towards him, which he first thought was a log or maybe a beaver. But as he got closer he realized it was a tiny bear cub. The little guy was in big trouble and could barely keep his snout above water. But the tiny bear seemed to know that Meck was there only to help and swam quickly towards the boat. Meck thought ‘Please don't bite me’ and scruffed the cute bear. But the cub was as calm as could be and didn't show any hostility towards the fisherman.
Meck took the opportunity to take some photos of the adorable bug-eyed bear while it sat calmly next to him in his boat after snorting out some water.
Now he had to decide what to do with the critter. Without any cell phone service to call for help, he decided to let it loose in the direction it was swimming, thinking the baby had probably been following his mother before getting lost in the lake.'I figured the mom swam across first and because the baby was so little, it was struggling. I figured she'd be up on the bank somewhere.'He dropped the critter on the bank and watched as the cub walked away, peering once over his shoulder as if to say good-bye to his rescuer.'Hopefully, they can get reunited again,' Meck said.
